BECOME A READER
A key component of the Mayor’s Book Club is scheduling readers to visit local schools. These readers inspire a love of reading and serve as positive role models for the children in our community.
Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, providing children with a fun opportunity to interact with adults.
Each month, a wide range of participants join in, including the Mayor, judges, active and retired military personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard), Kiwanians, police officers, firefighters, civil service members, retirees, high school and college students, school board members, clergy, farmers, doctors, homemakers, parents, grandparents, workers from various sectors, sea captains, tugboat operators, fishermen, oystermen, contractors, politicians, and attorneys.
If you're interested in becoming a guest reader for the Mayor's Book Club, please fill out the form below. Once you submit the form, we will contact you to schedule your first reading and provide you with everything you need for an enjoyable and successful volunteer reading experience!
